Drag Racing Robots Stephen’s Ave (Sept 14-16, 4-6pm)
See competition robots speed down the avenue in this furious one-on-one race to win the coveted mini-cup!
Robot Competition by Night Bridgeland (Sept 17, 7pm-11pm)
See a full FRC level robot competition played in the dark, with robots all aglow!
Mars Replica Rover Birthday Party Fort Calgary (Sept 18, 12pm-1pm)
See a replica of the Mars lander navigate the sandbox, while other robots try their best at a game of soccer.
From August 11 – 14, the China Urban Youth Robotics Alliance (CUYRA) hosted several FRC teams from around the world at the China Robotics Challenge in Shanghai, a tournament designed to mimic the 2016 FRC Stronghold competition.
Representing Western Canada was Team 4334 Alberta Tech Alliance, who completed the competition as OVERALL WINNERS!!!

The second annual FIRST Robotics Society Symposium Mechfest is coming to SAIT on August 27th 2016. Whether you’re a student, parent or someone interested in starting a FIRST team at any level, come out and attend these informative workshops.

This Saturday June 18th from 11AM-4PM we’re going to be running FRC and FLL robotics demonstrations at North Hill Centre. Be sure to swing by and say hi, and invite your friends and family to come and learn about robots. We’ll even have a few robots that you can try driving around!

ELT 1140: Robotics Applications
ELT 1910: ELT Project A
The following are planned in-person synchronous project activity sessions. You are required to complete the rest of the activities on your own to earn the full 1 credit module. You will have access to the online courses for the ELT courses.
Please register to attend: Day session June 25th for ELT 1130 and 1140 credits
Please register to attend: Evening Session June 29th for ELT 1010, ELT 1080, ELT 1910 credits.
Each Session has different activities planned. You must attend both sessions to earn the potential credits.
Please bring picture ID and your Alberta Student Number (ASN) to the in-person synchronous sessions for full registration.

Also a huge thanks to Craig and everyone who helped with the Calgary FLL Championship in January, and to Philippe and his crew who put on a great FTC Championship in February. 2016 has been a great FIRST Robotics Season and we couldn’t have done it without all your hard work!

Now that the 2016 FIRST Robotics Season is at an end, we wanted to give you a quick update on what we at FIRST Robotics Western Canada are up to. We’ve got a series of off-season events lined up including some fun PR events, as well as Learning/Training sessions for individuals wanting to get a leg up on the competition. Stay tuned for info on our events, and sessions and be sure to Like/Follow/Subscribe on social media to keep up to date.

Welcome to Calgary for the 4th Annual FRC Western Canada Regional. We were busy all of Sunday getting the Olympic Oval all set, and we are ready to go for the next three days with some fast-paced and exciting FIRST STRONGHOLD action!

The DOW Chemical Company and FIRST Robotics have teamed up and are holding a Video Contest for FIRST Robotics teams. There are grants available to be won from this contest for your team so I would recommend checking it out.
